Nutrition Tip of the Week: Summer Nutrition Tips
Maintaining a healthy, balanced diet during summer holidays doesn’t have to mean avoiding your favourite foods. Try these simple nutrition tips to stay on track:
Choosing foods with a higher water content (raw fruit & veggies, smoothies, salads & cool soups) will keep you feeling full and help with hydration.
Swap out sugary cocktails for lighter alcoholic beverages. Limit intake to one or two drinks.
Healthier grilling options include fish, tofu & corn on the cob – skip the steak!
Restaurant meals are almost always higher in salt, sugar, fat and calories. Keep dining out a treat, and order healthier options when you do go.
You don’t have to give up your favourite treats (hello ice cream)! Consider appropriate portion sizes and how frequently you have those treats.
