How To Find Your Neutral Spine

Neutral spine refers to the shape of the spine where its natural curve is present without being exaggerated in either direction.

In Pilates, it’s usually the safest posture to practice your exercises in.

To find your neutral spine, tilt your pelvis first forward, arching your lower back, and then backward, flattening the lumbar curve. Your neutral spine is roughly in the middle.

Keep this posture by activating your core muscles around the lumbar curve to hold your spine still and stable while you exercise.
