Fitness Tip of the Week: Try This Stretch For Tight Hips and Thighs
If you have tight hips & thighs, do this stretch daily!
Your quadriceps are a group of muscles that make up the front of the thigh. These muscles are used in squats, lunges and any other movements that straighten your knees.
When they get tight – often from overuse – they can pull on the front of the pelvis, causing a forward pelvic tilt, or arched lower back. This can lead to lower back pain.
Tight quads can also cause weakened, overstretched hamstrings, which is a factor in some types of knee pain.
Use a pillow under your back knee for support, and bring that knee as close to the wall as possible without pain.
I’ve shown two options for this stretch. Do the one that feels best for you, holding each side for a minimum of 30 seconds.
